The  past two weeks have been based on Active Inspire and our Expression devices. The sessions have been hands on and I am still practicing and testing out the devices. I am exited to try them out in the classroom as I feel my knowledge of the devices will develop and flourish through these experiences.

Today’s session was out final session and started with a Alice and wonderland themed celebration. As well as he lowvky cakes, it taught me how acheivements can be celebrated as well as a learning experience. For example the theme of Alice and wonder land rand brought the session and offered fun activities using Klikaklu. A treasure hunt app, this would be great for science and also for assessment!

I will definitely use ‘Class Dojo’ on upcoming placements because I feel it is an excellent was to incorporate children and their parents. It also offers motivation to children in your class and can be developed further. As well as this, parents can log in and check the children progress in behaviour as well as seeing what their child’s one that day, this is done with a code so parents ca. Only see what their child is doing. This us supported me in developing my knowledge in TS7 which was an area for development of mine at the beginning of year 1. The teacher can ha he the point system/comments and points this could then link to areas the children are not doing so well in or are doing well in eg using their indoor voice.

Introducing Travel in the classroom.

Mag Manchester Airport /Ticket omatic – ways to introduce travel and technology, in our passport QR codes are there to support these websites

Lessons or LEARNING EXPERIENCES : implement experiences not just lessons

Google Cardboard – can but them or make them and cross curricula with design and technology.

You can download an app call Google street view and travel around the world. I Travelled to under the water and was able to swim with this fish. This could link to learning about habitat’s and animals around the world.

An app called Do ink gives an experience for children to use an app to then create a film using a green screen with an image or animation of choice. This would be good for news reports in English, history reports or fun formative assessment videos.

Applications we are using today!

Paper is still the future

you can didgitalize this using post-it.

We had to do a post it note with our name and picture on and then use the post it app to register ourselves in.

Helps cut music which you can download and save to your file so it is easier to use when teaching! You will have to have music on your hardware and then it’s easy. – website that will support making music and then can be used in mp3cut.

This website offers fun exciting videos that children can do instead of brain gym!

This website you can add images and make them talk using your own voice.

After attending my first session of TEL I already feel a confident boost in using technology in the classroom.

Application Smashing

This is using more than one application using technology to create something interesting and interactive for the children.

We used Padlet and MSQRD to sing in to our register using funny filter selfies. This is an interactive fun way to answer a boring statutory document.

These are some of the applications we covered in this session :

Ditty is an application which makes fun videos that could welcome a group to a session in a fun, creative way. This could be at the start of a session or to introduce lesson objectives.

Finally, we covered how to set up blogs and was taught how to link this with widgets and also how to make our blog ours!
